Rich, delicious home made caramel apples.

Dipping Caramel Ingredients
 2 cups Dark Brown Sugar (packed)
 8 oz Unsalted Butter (2 sticks)
 14 oz Condensed Milk (1 - 14oz Can)
 1 cup Light Corn Syrup
 1 tsp Kosher Salt
 ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
Raw Apples
 12 Apples - Fuji, Granny Smith, Etc.
 12 Jumbo Popsicle Sticks

Prepare Apples

Remove stems and plant a stick into each apple. Then dip each apple into the hot simmering water, remove, and wipe off. This is to remove the wax coating. Place in fridge for about 15 minutes.

Prepare Dipping Sauce

Place remaining ingredients into a heavy bottom sauce pan and start to cook on medium stirring constantly. Place a candy thermometer into caramel mixtures and cook until it reaches firm ball stage (245 to 250 degrees F). Target temp is about 248.

Dip each apple into the caramel sauce one at time, shake off excess, and place onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silpat. Allow to fully cool (about 30 minutes) and enjoy.
