Each incredible mouth watering morsel is handcrafted and tended to with heart. Wicked City Kitchen uses only all-natural ingredients and we never use any additives or preservatives in the crafting of our products.

Meet Slade Grove
Slade Grove himself originated from small town in North Central Indiana called Farmland. Yes, there’s a real town called Farmland, Indiana with a population of about 1500 people. Slade’s culinary background originated from a long line of kitchen crafters from his Great Grandmother Juanita’s pie shop and restaurant, to his Grandmother Phyllis always whipping up something in the farmhouse kitchen, to his Mother Stephanie’s ritual of making tons and tons of homemade candy and other confectionery treats during Thanksgiving and Christmas year in and year out.
Initially Slade didn’t follow in the family’s tradition of kitchen wizardry and went into the information technology field after attending Ball State University and Franklin College. After nearly two decades of marking and building nationwide high-speed infrastructure networks for such companies as Microsoft, AT&T Wireless Services, MindSpring Internet, and Here!, Slade retired from the IT field and decided to follow his secondary passion of baking. Slade went on to attend various culinary programs and receive formal culinary training from Phoenix College and the French Pastry School.
After serving as the Culinary Educator for Williams-Sonoma Grande Cuisine based in San Francisco, Slade opened his first wholesale Bakery – Wicked – in 2003. In 2006, Slade Grove opened his first Wicked Cafe retail storefront which quickly grew into a nationwide brand known for the Wickedly Delicious Brownies, Whoopie Pies, Slade’s Wicked Good Cupcakes and Oprah’s Favorite Find, Slade’s Red Velvet Cupcake with Sweet Cream Cheese Icing.
In 2010, the right opportunity presented itself to Slade and he sold the retail store and wholesale baking facility to a large food conglomerate which rebranded Slade’s original recipes which are still sold across the United States through mail order and various grocery stores.
In 2013, Slade Grove started to reboot his culinary success and began making nationally acclaimed, award winning, amazing confections with a concentration on all-natural, chewy, made to order caramels. Slade’s caramel is based on a version of his mother’s (Stephanie) original butter caramel which she made every year at Christmas and hand wrapped in wax paper sheets.
Since that time, Slade has perfected his original caramel recipe. Now making over 15 varieties of melt-in-your-mouth, buttery rich caramel chews. He as since added amazing lines of all-natural brownies, shortbread cookies, and caramel sauces.
